Fellowship
Sunday School
While our Sunday School is small, we have some very dedicated teachers. We have classes for pre-schoolers, elementary aged children, middle school kids, high schoolers, and adults. In our children’s classes we use the Faith Alive curriculum. The senior high class tackles a variety of topics of interest. The adults always have a lively discussion related to our life in the church and in the world. Sunday School meets every week at 9:45 AM. Children of all ages and ALL adults are encouraged to join in this time of study and growth in faith.
The BupCees Youth Fellowship
Junior and Senior High youth meet each Sunday evening at 6:30 for fun, food, fellowship, discussion, mission projects, and other activities. The BupCees raise hundreds of dollars each year through their participation in the CROP Walk and the 30-Hour Famine. They are also involved in hands-on local missions. A three-day retreat at Camp Crestfield in Slippery Rock, PA is a highlight of their year. New members are always welcome. For more information, speak with the BupCees’ sponsors, Laurie and Tom Schultz.
The Choir
The choir loves to sing! Anthems and choral responses for the worship service range from traditional to modern. Currently, the choir has nine members: 4 sopranos, 1 alto, 2 tenors, and 2 basses. Their sound is much bigger than their numbers would indicate. They are under the direction of our organist/choir director, Jacquie Blender. If you like to sing, the choir will welcome you with open arms. Just speak with Jacquie Blender. The choir meets every Thursday evening at 7:00 for rehearsal, and they gather at 10:00 on Sundays to prepare for the 11:00 worship service.
Second Wednesday Gathering
Fellowship and conversation are shared on the second Wednesday of every month as we gather for a variety of different programs. Sometimes it is a Pot Luck Supper, or we may just gather for dessert or snacks. Our programs may be serious or whimsical. In the past year we have had a slide show and discussion about the church in South Africa, a games night, and an open house at the minister’s home. The Second Wednesday Gathering allows us to get to know one another better in a relaxed, informal setting. All are most welcome!
The Summer Book Club
Read any good books lately? The Summer Book Club is always looking for stimulating books that will prompt an engaging discussion. We try to read books with a message, and we have discussed current best sellers and older favorites. If you like to read, consider joining the Summer Book Club. Speak with Linda Carroll for more information.
